FAITHFUL NIGHT

,
Synchronised Video Triptych: FAITHFUL NIGHT | Performer: bello benischauer

to provide hope for this world
to find peace
to prove to oneself that it’s never too late
to raise your concern about global issues
the belief that religions, races and peacemaking powers
will finally unite, does exist
a rogation to Jesus, a conversation with Allah, a connection to Krishna
we must make a conversation happen in-between
we all can have a faithful night

With this work we want to show our respect for religious beliefs in this world at large and our respect for all this world’s people: for their individualities as well as their alikeness. Our beliefs may seem disparate but originate from our longing for understanding the sense of life. We all search for its deeper and more spiritual meaning in one way or another. It doesn’t matter, from which cultural and religious background we descend, or which beliefs we may have adopted, replaced, amplified, neglected, suppressed,… We need to have a reason to live. Consumerism lacks the ability to satisfy a human soul. It cannot serve us as the base for our human existence. This time of the year especially draws our attention again to Christmas, a feast that gets more and more buried under the heap of waste that we produce.
